Qatari LNG heads for South Korea

Qatar, the world’s largest liquefied natural gas producer, shipped an LNG cargo from the Ras Laffan Port to South Korea on Friday.

The 138,000 cbm SK Summit, owned by SK shipping, is expected to arrive at the Kogas-operated Incheon LNG terminal on August 22, shipping data says.

The Incheon terminal is one of the world’s largest LNG receiving facilities, and it supplies natural gas to the Incheon and Seoul metropolitan areas, which account for about 40% of South Korea’s natural gas demand.
