Qatari LNG on Way to Taiwan

Qatar, the world’s largest LNG producer, shipped an LNG cargo from the Ras Laffan Port to Taiwan on Wednesday, shipping data reveals.

The cargo is being carried by the 145,800 cbm Simaisma, and it is due to arrive at the Taichung LNG terminal on April 1.

Kawasaki Heavy Industries has signed a contract in December of 2013 for three 160,000 cbm LNG tanks to be constructed at CPC Corporation’s Taichung LNG receiving terminal.

CPC  is planning to expand the capacity of the Taichung LNG terminal to 5 million tons from the existing 3 million tons.
