RasGas Poised to Meet Growing World-Wide LNG Demand (Singapore)

RasGas Company Limited delivered the keynote address on the first day of CWC’s World LNG Series: Asia Pacific Summit in Singapore, on Tuesday 21st September.

RasGas Marketing Executive, Khalid Sultan Al Kuwari, discussed ‘Delivering on the RasGas Commitment’ during the programme session devoted to ‘Global Strategies and the Adaptation to an Era of Change – New Drivers, Dynamics and Strategies’.

Mr Al Kuwari focused on three main points in his speech: why RasGas is now the long-term supplier of choice for liquid natural gas (LNG); its impressive market reach today, as a supplier of approximate 37 million tonnes per year (Mta) with a global customer portfolio; and how RasGas has secured its LNG supply through the use of cutting-edge technology, dedicated facilities and a world-class international LNG team.

“At RasGas we strongly believe that a reliable supplier must deliver on contractual commitments,””said Mr Al Kuwari. ‘The global LNG market is very dynamic and customers must be able to rely on their suppliers for contractual certainty – particularly in an era where supply security remains a major source of anxiety for some.”

Noting the International Energy Agency’s forecast of long-term growth in global demand for natural gas, Mr Al Kuwari describes how RasGas is ideally positioned to meet this demand.

Since 1999 the company has invested heavily in its LNG supply chain infrastructure. Over the last 10 years the operational reliability of its trains has been proven, ensuring security of supply for RasGas customers around the world.

‘As we move forward in a dynamically changing world, RasGas will continue to deliver on its commitments, to meet the growing global demand for clean energy,”Mr Al Kuwari concludes. “

The seven trains of RasGas are today providing certainty of supply through proven reliability and a strong, customer-focused team.

RasGas has long been a strategic partner for Asia and looks forward to continuing and enhancing this relationship in the long term.”

More than 240 senior delegates from 25 different regions – representing the ‘Who’s Who’ of the LNG industry – will be attending the CWC’s Asia Pacific Summit, which is the largest strategic international LNG conference in the Asia Pacific region.
