The award, presented by Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, comes in recognition of RasGas’ rigorous and mature approach and a strong grasp of sustainability governance and clear definitions the company makes of all management aspects.

Nafez Bseiso, RasGas’ Acting Chief Executive Officer said, “We are extremely proud to receive this prestigious award as it recognises the fully integrated approach we have to sustainability management throughout our company. We truly believe that business success and sustainable practices are inseparable, and this award reflects our deep-rooted commitment towards adhering to the highest standards of governance, integrity and transparency across all our business operations.”

RasGas’ 2013 Sustainability Report is designed to provide a comprehensive review of the company’s environmental, social and economic performance. The report is prepared in accordance with QP guidelines on sustainability reporting and also adopts guidance specific to the oil and gas industry prepared by the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA) and multi-sector guidelines from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

A total of 36 participating companies from the energy sector, including RasGas, also set up exhibition booths that showcased their sustainability projects and case studies.
