Repsol to Use Transocen Barents for Drilling in PL 531

Repsol Exploration Norge AS has received consent to conduct exploration drilling with the Transocean Barents harsh-environment semi-submersible drilling rig.

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted Repsol Exploration Norge AS consent to conduct exploration drilling of well 7218/11-1. The drilling activity is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2013, with a duration of approximately 48 days, depending on whether a discovery is made.

The drilling site is located in the Barents Sea and is part of production licence 531. Water depth at the site is approximately 325 metres.
