Richard Slater retires from KBR’s board

Houston-based LNG engineer KBR said that Richard Slater will retire from the company’s board of directors effective May 17, 2017. 

Slater served as the chairman of several committees, most recently serving as the chairman of the company’s nominating and corporate governance committee.

Slater joined the KBR board in November 2006, prior to which he served in various executive positions with Jacobs Engineering Group, beginning in May 1980. He was employed as a consultant to the chief executive officer of JEG from January 2003 to October 2006, and prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President, Operations from March 1998 to December 2002.

Slater been the chairman of Orbis, an investment and corporate advisory firm, since February 2003.

He also served as non-executive chairman of Bluebeam Software from 2006 to 2013. He was an independent director of Reliance Steel & Aluminum from 2006 to 2009. Slater was also a member of the board of trustees of Claremont Graduate University.
