Santos GLNG hits production milestone

The US$18.5 billion Santos GLNG project said Friday it has produced one million tonnes of ‪chilled gas at the plant on Curtis island off Gladstone since it commenced production last year.

Production from the first GLNG train commenced in September of 2015. The first cargo produced at the 7.8 mtpa LNG plant on was delivered in October to Kogas’ Pyeong Taek terminal in South Korea.

First liquefied natural gas from Train 2 is expected in the second quarter of 2016.

Santos has a 30% interest in Australia’s GLNG. Other co-venturers include Petronas (27.5%), Total (27.5%) and Kogas (15%).
