Australian LNG operator and stakeholder, Santos inked a location swap agreement for the delivery of at least 18 PJ of gas annually into the southern domestic market.

Under the three year agreement, with a one-year option extension option, Santos will take delivery of gas at Wallumbilla and then provide an equivalent quantity of gas at delivery points in the southern domestic market, starting January 2018.

Speaking of the agreement, Santos’ CEO Kevin Gallagher said the company will support the Federal Government in bringing more supply to the domestic market in order to mitigate supply concerns.

The company aims to continue pursuing similar opportunities and plans to use its Moomba infrastructure and pipeline capacity positions to assist in the delivery of additional natural gas volumes.
