Scorpio Orders Five VLCCs

Scorpio Tankers Inc. and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) have entered into a contract for the construction of five Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs).

According to DSME, the deal was signed on December 13th with a contract value of circa $474 million.

These highly-efficient vessels will have the length of 336m, breadth of 60m, with the carrying capacity of approx 300,000 tons.

Delivery of the ships is slated for the first half of 2016.
