Singapore’s Energy Market Authority (EMA) selected Pavilion Gas and Shell as importers of the next tranche of LNG for Singapore.

The two companies have been awarded the license each through a two-stage request for proposals (RFP) process carried out to name up to two LNG importers to supply Singapore with LNG, EMA said in its statement on Monday.

The two-stage RFP was launched by the Energy Market Authority on June 30, 2014, and closed on June 30, 2016.

Under their respective licenses, Pavilion Gas and Shell will each have exclusivity to market up to 1 Mtpa of LNG or for 3 years, whichever is earlier.

The next tranche of imports is expected to start in 2017, EMA said.
