Singapore to Consume 3 Mtpa of LNG by 2015

Singapore will consume 3 Mtpa of liquefied natural gas by 2015, Bloomberg reported, citing Steve Hill, BG Group’s vice president of global LNG and oil marketing.

The country also plans to build a fourth storage tank for its LNG terminal by 2016-17, as part of a plan to raise the facility’s processing capacity to 9 million tonnes per annum.

Singapore LNG Corporation (SLNG), which is building the country’s first LNG terminal, said recently that as of end December 2012, construction of the LNG terminal is over 98% completed.
