Six-Pack for Hyundai Mipo

Navig8 Chemical Tankers Inc. has placed an initial order with Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. Ltd. (HMD) for six 37,000 dwt IMO2 eco-design chemical tankers.

The newbuilds will have the length of 184 meters, breadth of 27.4 meters and the height of 17.2 meters. The construction is scheduled to start in May 2014 with the delivery planned for early 2015.

According to a regulatory filing, the contract worth around $208 million, includes options for six additional PCs.

HMD has so far secured orders for 98 vessels, costing at $3.3 billion in total. The shipyard’s orderbook now stands at 195 vessels, booking its capacity for the next 2 years.
