SOCAR President Meets with BP Officials in London

 

On February 22, during a working visit to London, Mr. Rovnag Abdullayev, SOCAR President met with Mr. Robert Dudley, BP President at Company’s Head office. The meeting was attended by Mr. Rashid Javanshir, President of BP-Azerbaijan and other high-ranking officials of BP.

The meeting covered the discussions on the long-term fruitful cooperation between BP and SOCAR in the development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli and Shah Deniz fields, as well as implementation of the construction and commissioning the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.

Besides, the attendees spoke about the works conducted on the Shafag-Asiman field. The parties noted the high level of cooperation and significant contribution of companies to the development of Azerbaijan’s economy and oil and gas industry. The sides also discussed the prospects for the second phase of the project to develop the Shahdeniz field, as well as the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe, and cooperation between the two companies in other projects in Azerbaijan and in third countries.

That day SOCAR President also met with Mr. Phil Mulhall, ExxonMobil Regional Manager for Europe and Mr. Steven Mann, Caspian Region and chief advisor on international issues. According to Mr. Abdullayev, ExxonMobil is one of the first international oil and gas companies operating in Azerbaijan. As he mentioned, the company successfully cooperates with SOCAR on major regional projects. SOCAR president expressed confidence that the two companies would continue to successfully develop business partnerships formed in the previous period.
