South Korea: DSME, Total Honor World Safety Day in Front of CLOV FPSO

On 26th April, Daewoo Shipbuilding Marine & Engineering and Total held a Safety Stand-Up Meeting to commemorate World Safety Day (28th of April) at the Pre-erection area in front of the CLOV FPSO.

A number of people who work on the CLOV FPSO including Mr. Patrick Vallot, FPSO manager of Total, Mrs. Genevieve Mouillerat, project director of Total CLOV, and Mr. Dong-Hyuk Park, Executive Vice President & CPO of DSME attended this meeting.

During the stand-up meeting Mr. Patrick Vallot said, “Risk can potentially be everywhere and so vigilance from each and every person is valuable. TOTAL, DSME & the ILO believe in proactive accident prevention than reactive follow up measures. We are all united when it comes to preventing risks. TOTAL is confident that a high standard of construction safety can be achieved on the CLOV FPSO and we will provide full support to DSME during the entire phase of the CLOV FPSO Project. This confidence is supported through DSME’s Chief Production Officer Mr. DH Park’s commitment which believes in Prevention is the key to safety. Conformity with basic safety rules and policies is the most important duty a worker should have for themselves and their family.”

DSME and Total have achieved 5 million safe working hours, so Mrs. Genevieve Mouillerat handed over a memorial tablet showing 5 million safe working hours along with 1,300 T-shirts to the DSME employees attending the meeting. At the end, five DSME employees were awarded a gift through a lottery as a safety incentive.
