Swire Blue Ocean's Two WIVs Continue on Schedule

Swire Blue Ocean (SBO) is currently building two sister Windfarm Installation Vessels (WIVs) at the Samsung yard in South Korea.

The SBO vessel design focuses on safety, efficiency and reliability and will provide clients with a significantly improved operating weather window. The advanced specification features a usable deck area in excess of 4,000 m2, DP 2 station keeping, a 1,200 MT crane, a total jackable weight of 8,400 MT and a transit speed of 13 knots.

Pacific Orca is on schedule to deliver in July 2012 and arrive in Europe in the fall 2012. She is currently available for contracting from November 1st 2012 until March 31st 2013 before entering contracts.

Pacific Osprey is on schedule to deliver in December 2012 and arrive in Europe in the early spring 2013.

Both vessels have already been contracted for installing foundations, WTGs as well as for decommissioning jobs for clients such as DONG, Vattenfall, etc.
