In today’s spotted we present you with the floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) being built for the Malaysian oil and gas company Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas).

The vessel was named PFLNG Satu at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) yard in Okpo, South Korea, on March 4.

Once the builder finalizes the construction of the PETRONAS Floating LNG1 (PFLNG1) the facility will be moored at the Kanowit gas field field, located 180 km offshore Sarawak.

The vessel, which is designed to produce 1.2 mtpa of LNG, is expected to be ready for sail away in the second quarter of 2016.

PFLNG Satu is expected to play a significant role in Petronas’ efforts to unlock the gas reserves in Malaysia’s remote and stranded fields.

Featuring a length of 300 meters and a width of 60 meters, the vessel will be able to store some 177,000 cubic meters of LNG.
