Stanislav Yudin In Charge of Beatrice Jacket Installation

Seaway Heavy Lifting’s (SHL) vessel Stanislav Yudin has been deployed on the jacket installation at the Beatrice offshore wind farm as the heavy lift vessel Oleg Strashnov left the site to handle the substation installation at the Arkona offshore wind farm in the German part of the Baltic Sea.

Oleg Strashnov’s AIS data from 3 April show that the vessel is already at the Arkona offshore construction site and, according to Notice to Mariners for the Beatrice project, Stanislav Yudin is now leading the jacket installation.

Forty-five foundations out of the total of 86 have been already installed at the Beatrice site, which will house 84 Siemens Gamesa 7MW wind turbines and two Offshore Transformer Modules (OTMs), all supported by jackets.

In January, Oleg Strashnov left the Beatrice wind farm to install the offshore substation at the Merkur offshore wind farm, and returned to the jacket installation at the UK offshore wind farm right after completing the works at the German Merkur project.

The Beatrice project site is currently accommodating several activities, including jacket installation, inter-array cable installation, export cable installation, and the commissioning of the first of its two OTMs.

The first wind turbine at the 588MW offshore wind farm is scheduled to be installed this summer and the project is expected to be operational by the end of 2019.
