Statoil Gets Approval to Use COSLPromoter at Troll (Norway)

Statoil Petroleum ASA has received consent to use COSLPromoter for drilling, completion, well workover, well intervention and plugback of production wells on the Troll field in the Norwegian part of the North Sea.

The consent relates to use of the semi-submersible COSL Promoter drilling facility to drill the 31/2-N-14 and 31/2-K-13 wells which are part of production licences 054 and 085.

Water depth at the locations varies from 333 metres to 377 metres.

COSLPromoter is a semi-submersible dynamically positioned drilling facility, type GM4000. The facility was built and assembled at Yantai Raffles Shipyard (YRS) in China. The drilling package was delivered by National Oilwell Varco (NOV) and built at Nymo in Grimstad.
