Statoil to Modify Sleipner for Connection with Utgard Field

Statoil has received consent from Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to make modifications at Sleipner A and T to connect to the Utgard field.

The consent is for the necessary modifications to the Sleipner A and T facilities in order to receive and process the well stream from Utgard oil and condensate field.

Utgard is situated on the boundary between the Norwegian and UK sectors of the North Sea. The largest section of the field is in block 15/8 on the Norwegian shelf, around 21 kilometers from Sleipner.

Utgard will be developed using a subsea well template. The well stream will be piped to Sleipner for processing.

Statoil informed on Tuesday that the plan for development and operation for the Utgard field was approved by the authorities.

On Friday, OneSubsea, a Schlumberger company, secured an engineering, procurement and construction contract to supply subsea production system for the Utgard field.

Production on the field is scheduled to start in Q4 2019.
