Statoil to Use Transocean Searcher Rig on Tyrihans Field

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has give approval to Statoil for the use of  Transocean Searcher rig for re-completion of well 6407/1A-4- H on the Tyrihans field in production licence 091.

Tyrihans is located in the Norwegian Sea about 25 kilometres southeast of the Åsgard field. The water depth in the area is about 270 metres.

Estimated start-up is 16 May 2012 and the activity will last until 30 March 2013.

Transocean Searcher is operated by Transocean Offshore North Sea Ltd NUF and is a semi-submersible drilling facility of the Bingo 3000 type, built in 1983 at Kaldnes Mek. Verksted, Tønsberg.
