STX Changxing Rose Leaves Besiktas Shipyard, Turkey

STX Changxing Rose Leaves Besiktas Shipyard

Besiktas Shipyard has completed the repair work on STX Changxing Rose, a 2010 built 60.396 GT vehicles carrier owned by Korea’s STX Marine Service Co.

During the vessel’s recent voyage, a major fire broke out in the garage decks. The ship arrived to the yard on 16th January after unloading damaged cars in Casablanca. Over 500 tons of steel were replaced within just 60 days.

The coordination and planning of the project have been carefully studied in cooperation with owners because of the vessel’s tight schedule. Even before the vessel’s arrival to the yard, decks and panels prefabrication was started under the observation of the Korean Register.
