Subsea 7’s Seven Rio Begins Sea Trials

Subsea 7’s Seven Rio left the Huisman Schiedam quayside for her sea trials, after the installation of a 550mt Pipelay Tower.

The company informed through their social media that the vessel will return to Huisman Schiedam in early August for the finalization of the Huisman scope of work.

In November last year, IHC successfully launched the pipelaying vessel at its shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, The Netherlands.

The Seven Rio has an overall length of 146 metres, a beam of 30 metres and a Class-2 dynamic positioning system.

The vessel is equipped with a vertical (tiltable) lay system – with a 550t top tension capacity – and twin ROVs.

She is fitted with two under-deck storage carousels, with a capacity for 2,500t and 1,500t of product respectively.
