Subsea UK Conference to Dive into Latest Underwater Technology

The latest developments in underwater vehicles, marine robotics and autonomous operations will be among the topics under the spotlight at Subsea UK’s 2018 Underwater Vehicles Conference next month.

The UK industry body, has today (Monday 23rd July) launched a call for speakers, urging experts from across the marine sector to step forward and debate a range of subjects including global cost reductions, sustainability and efficiency improvements, as well as market drivers and restraints.

With the underwater vehicle market expected to grow significantly over the next five years, due to the increased demand for underwater robotics for survey and seabed mapping, offshore drilling, and pipeline inspection, the event will examine what the supply chain must do to meet increasing industry demands.

The event will take place on 11th September at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, said: “The event will provide a forum for the country’s growing underwater robotics community to discuss the challenges, explore new developments and share ideas, so we can identify ways to push the boundaries of what is currently possible in subsea exploration.”
