Subsea UK encourages exchange of knowledge at industry event

Subsea UK, industry body representing firms dealing with subsea oil and gas business, will host an event in the south-west of England, aiming to have the local companies discuss the challenges they are facing, “with a view to identifying opportunities and efficiencies through collaboration which will protect jobs and revenues.”

The event, to be held in Bristol’s Radisson Blu Hotel on April 12, will focus on the steps the industry must take in order to survive and thrive, the organizers said, adding that topics will include collaboration, driving efficiencies through new technology and exports through exploration of new geographic markets.

The evening session will feature a series of presentations from six event sponsors including Nylacast, Frazer-Nash Consultancy, GE Oil & Gas and Martech. They will outline how they are working to address the immediate and future needs of the oil and gas industry.

Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK said: “There is a huge amount of innovation and expertise in the south-west of England, particularly in the areas of subsea, defence, oceanology and marine renewables. We want to support these companies, helping them identify and exploit opportunities and encourage the exchange of knowledge.

“This event provides an ideal platform for subsea companies in the south-west to come together and work towards a common goal, which is vital if the sector is to rise to the challenge of developing new solutions that will increase production and the recovery of hydrocarbon reserves at a lower cost.”
