First Subsea's Suretank to Transport New PRT

The custom-built 20ft open top container has been specially fitted out to hold and transport the Hyperlast ™ 101 Twin Sealing system from First Subsea.

Used to recover subsea flowline and gas export production pipelines to the surface, the twin polyurethane seals from First Subsea increase the PRT’s resilience and scope for long-term deployment in deepwater and ultra-deepwater.

Phil Day, Proposals Manager at First Subsea, said: “As operators go further offshore and to deeper water we have to develop our product range to meet these new requirements. An important factor in the development of any new product is the transportation. This is our first dedicated DNV 2.7-1 certified container for our increasing fleet of Pipe Recovery Tools and we’ve been extremely impressed with the level of expertise that Suretank has demonstrated. The design can be adjusted to accommodate other PRTs in our range so we expect this to be one of many.”

Suretank is recognised as one of the market leaders in the design and manufacturing of offshore equipment certified to DNV 2.7-1 standards and offering bespoke solutions to customers’ operational requirements.

Mark Pett-Ridge Sales Manager for Suretank added: “This was a bespoke design as the customer had very specific requirements. The feedback on this first order has been very positive and we’re looking forward to working with First Subsea in the future.”
