Talisman's Isbjørn Prospect Declared a Dry Well (Norway)

Det norske oljeselskap ASA, as partner, is currently in the process of drilling exploration well 16/10-5 on the Isbjørn prospect in Production License (PL) 568.

The primary target in the well was Upper Jurassic (the Ula Formation). The well encountered reservoir rocks of good quality, as expected, but they were water-bearing. The drilling of the well will now continue to planned total depth, and the data acquisition will be completed as planned.

The well is being drilled in the southern part of the North Sea, approximately 15 kilometers southeast of the Varg Field, at an ocean depth of 83 meters.

Talisman is the operator of the license, holding a 40 percent interest. Det norske has a 20 percent interest, and the other partners are Edison (10 percent) and Skagen 44 (10 percent).
