Tanker Duo Joins Navig8’s VL8 Pool

U.S.-based tanker owner Gener8 Maritime has taken delivery of two newbuilt tankers from Asia shipbuilders.

Namely, Chinese Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co (SWS) has delivered Gener8 Supreme, featuring 300,960 in deadweight capacity and 347,783 cbm volume.

South Korean Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) has delivered Gener8 Apollo. The 299, 995 dwt ship boasts 335,474 in cbm capacity.

The Gener8 Apollo and the Gener8 Supreme represent the fourth and fifth of 21 “ECO” VLCCs expected to be delivered into Gener8 Maritime’s fleet.

Both tankers join Navig8’s VL8 Pool.

With the latest deliveries, Navig8’s VLCC pool has 28 VLCCs trading on spot market.

As of January 5, 2016, Gener8 Maritime has a fully-delivered fleet of 47 vessels, including one time-chartered-in VLCC. Gener8’s owned fleet is comprised of 16 VLCC newbuildings and 30 vessels on the water.
