Technip to Remove Oil Loading Systems from Gullfaks Field

Technip was awarded by Statoil a contract for the removal and replacement of the two oil-loading systems at the Gullfaks field. This field is located in the North Sea, offshore Norway, at a water depth of approximately 130 meters.

The contract covers the engineering, preparation and removal of the existing system, installation of the new systems, towing and handover to a disposal contractor of the existing Gullfaks loading system.

Technip’s operating center in Stavanger, Norway will execute the contract, which is scheduled for completion in the second semester of 2014. The offshore construction campaign will use Technip’s diving support vessels, the Skandi Arctic and the Wellservicer. Divers will assist the offshore construction work.

This contract follows the award in 2012 by Statoil of a contract for the fabrication and installation of flowlines for the Gullfaks South field development, and confirms Technip’s position as a leading contractor in the North Sea.
