TenneT Seeks AC Subsea Cable Suppliers for DolWin3

TenneT has issued two invitations to tender for the DolWin3 offshore grid connection.

The first one is for the manufacture, supply and installation of an AC submarine cable system (including compensation, fibre optic cable, secondary equipment, cable performance, etc.) between an offshore wind farm and Cluster 2, designed for a transmission capacity of approximately 450MW and a voltage level of 155kV and connection to the electrical device of the respective offshore platform.

The second invitation to tender involves manufacture, supply and installation of an AC submarine cable systems (including compensation, fibre optic cable, secondary systems, cable performance, etc.) between an offshore wind farm and the power supply system Cluster 2, designed for a transmission capacity of approximately 200MW and a voltage level of approximately 155kV and connection to the electrical device of the respective offshore platform.

The DolWin3 project is the third part of the DolWin cluster. From the transformer platform DolWin gamma, the subsea cable will be installed as a DC connection to the coast and from there a 79km long underground cable will run to the onshore converter station Dörpen West. There, the system will be connected to the German transmission grid. The completion of the DolWin3 is scheduled for 2017.
