The Netherlands: Christening Ceremony for New Multi Purpose Vessel

On a windy 31st of March 2011 and at the historic location of the Holland America Line in the Port of Rotterdam the M.V. Beauforce, a 8.268 tons dwt multi purpose vessel, received distinguished guests. The occasion was the name giving ceremony to be performed by Mrs. Leny Slokkers, the spouse of one of the long time business friends of the shipowners.

Although the wind played with the bottle on the first occasion, the firm swing of the Godmother resulted in a beautiful splash and showing of the distinguished name Beauforce.

The vessel made already one round trip to the USA and Canada, and left shortly after the Name giving ceremony for loading on her next trip across the Atlantic.

The party enjoyed an interesting tour on the vessel presented to the guest by the Captain and the officers of the vessel. The program ended after a pleasant diner in the nearby Restaurant part of the Cruise terminal in Rotterdam.

The vessel is equipped with 2 cargo cranes of 40 tons each, full tween deck fitted for loading of project and break bulk cargo. Although slightly larger than her previously delivered sisters Beautriumph, Beautriton, Beautrophy and Beautrader, this vessel shows the commitment of both owners and yard in building and delivering a vessel suited for todays market and flexible in operation for both owners and charterers.
