The Netherlands: IHC Fundex Equipment Introduces World’s Largest Mobile Piling Machine

IHC Fundex Equipment BV, part of IHC Merwede, will introduce the world’s largest piling machine on 31 March and 1 April 2011. This event will take place on the company grounds in Goes, The Netherlands, where the machine – commissioned by a Brazilian contractor – was designed and produced. The multipurpose piling machine is a valuable addition to IHC Merwede’s broad product range and highlights the company’s capability to complete complex turnkey projects.

Infrastructure

The number of infrastructure improvement projects, such as the construction of new harbours or the enlargement of existing ones, is growing worldwide. This trend explains the increasing demand for heavy, multipurpose piling machines with large capacities. IHC Fundex Equipment develops, manufactures and supplies hydraulic foundation machines. From this perspective, the new piling machine, the FPD5000, is a valuable addition to the company’s product line.

Multifunctional

The multifunctional machine has been designed for diverse methods of piling but can also be used as a crane. The design of the machine is based on a 280-tonne crawler crane and has a leader length of 50 meters. The operational weight is greater than 300 tonnes. The first project on which the FPD5000 will be used will be the construction of a Brazilian airport.
