VIDEO: Ulstein’s Stinger Handling System to Enhance Pipe-Lay Ops

Norway’s Ulstein is currently customizing their innovative Chain type Stinger Handling system concept for three different companies on three different continents. The compact system improves both the vessel design and pipe-lay operations, and as acknowledgment on April 16th 2013, the equipment has won the bi-annual IRO Innovation Prize.

 

Falcon Energy Orders Jack-Up Rig from Keppel

Singapore’s Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) has secured a contract from Singapore-listed Falcon Energy Group Limited (Falcon Energy) through its subsidiary, FTS Derricks, to construct a KFELS Super B Class jack-up rig.

Sevan Drilling Drops Newbuild Options. Focuses on Marketing Rig Under Construction

Sevan Drilling, a Norway-based drilling contractor which owns a fleet of Ultra Deepwater drilling rigs of a specific cylindrical design,  during its Investor Day presentation announced it would not take options for the rigs 5. and 6. at Cosco shipyard.

 

Saudi Aramco Starts Oil Production from Manifa Field

Saudi Aramco announced the first phase production start-up at the Manifa field commenced on April 10th, 3 months ahead of schedule and well under the program’s approved budget. The Manifa field’s production capacity is expected to reach 500,000 bpd by July 2013.
