Pilot Dies in Gulf of Mexico Helicopter Crash. Two Injured

A helicopter carrying three workers who had just completed their offshore shifts crashed today in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, around 30 miles north of Venice. The pilot died, two of workers sustained severe back injuries, one was unharmed.

 

Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing on Yme Platform

A Sikorsky S-92 helicopter, operated by Bristow Helicopters in Norway, made an emergency landing on a North Sea platform late Friday.

The crew on board the Bourbon Peridot multi-purpose support vessel has launched a video of them singing the famous ‘Africa’ song. The video was made offshore Equatorial Guinea in West Africa.

Atwood Oceanics, Inc. announced today that one of its subsidiaries had entered into a definitive agreement for the sale of its standard jackup drilling unit, the Vicksburg, to Gulf Drilling International Ltd (Q.S.C.) for a sales price of $55.4 million.
