Nam Cheong Wins $120m Order for Four PSVs

Nam Cheong Limited, Malaysia’s largest Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) builder, today announced that it has sold four Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) worth a total of approximately $120 million. The customer is new to Nam Cheong and is an emerging offshore marine services company based in Latin America.

Jackson Offshore Operators has secured a multi-year contract with BP America to build two Jones Act deepwater platform supply vessels (PSVs).

World’s Fastest Ship Christened by Argentina’s President

Yesterday in Buenos Aires the President of Argentina, Christina Fernandez de Kirchner became the “Godmother” to a vessel built in Australia. Named Francisco in honour of the Argentine born Pope, the 99 metre World’s Fastest Ship, and the first large dual fuel high speed Ro-Ro to use LNG as its primary fuel, was built in Hobart by Incat Tasmania Pty Ltd and delivered recently to South American company Buquebus.

Royal Caribbean International and STX shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France celebrated, on Sept 23rd, the steel cutting for the third Oasis-class ship. This was the first construction milestone for a vessel that will be the world’s largest cruise ship when she debuts in 2016.

Shanghai Shipyard Delivers FA XIAN6 Research Vessel

Shanghai Shipyard Co. has delivered the FA XIAN6, a Rolls-Royce designed seismic research vessel, to Shanghai Offshore Petroleum Bureau, a part of the Chinese conglomerate Sinopec.
