Transocean Marianas Arrives in Namibia

Brazil’s oil company HRT Participações em Petróleo S.A. announces that today the semi-submersible drilling-rig Transocean Marianas from Transocean yesterday arrived in Walvis Bay, Namibia.

The rig will undergo mandatory maintenance for the next three to four weeks, before starting HRT’s drilling campaign in Walvis and Orange sedimentary basins.

The Marianas is expected to Start drilling operations on the Wingat Prospect, in Walvis basin at HRT’s Petroleum Exploration License 23 (PEL-23), by March 2013. Wingat is located at a water depth of 1,000 meters and drilling operations are expected to last approximately 60 days.
