Turkey Stops Business Relations with Italy’s Eni

Turkey has chosen to suspend all business relations with Italian oil company Eni, as a response to the oil giant’s involvement in oil and gas exploration in disputed waters offshore Cyprus, Anadolu news agency has reported.

The news agency has quoted the country’s energy minister Taner Yildiz who, at the outskirts of an energy event, told reporters that Turkey would halt working relationships with Eni due to “ENI’s operations in conflicted waters with Greek Cypriot side which was against international laws.”

He also added that all Eni’s operations in Turkey will be suspended.
