Turkish Fuel Distributor Buys Pair of Product Tankers

 

THY OPET, a Turkish company formed as a joint venture of the Turkish Airlines and fuel distributor OPET, has reportedly bought a pair of oil/chemical tankers from Fiona Shipholding S.A. for USD 11mill each, Lion Shipbrokers said in their latest Weekly Report.

Both vessels, DIPLOMAT and NEGOTIATOR, were built at South Korean shipyard Sekwang in 2007. The 13,027 DWT product tankers, Nippon Kaiji Kyokai classed, were operated by Evalend Shipping Tankers CO. S.A before the sale.

Turkish media reported on November 24th that the current position of MT DIPLOMAT was Tuzla, Istanbul anchorage while MT NEGOTIATOR was sailing near Gibraltar.
