U.S. Q2 LNG imports down 17.1 pct YoY

U.S. imports of LNG by vessel in the second quarter increased 3.9 percent compared to the last quarter and decreased by 17.1 percent compared to the same quarter in 2013.

Six cargoes of LNG were imported in the second quarter, compared to eight last quarter and seven cargoes in the second quarter of 2013, according to the U.S. DOE data.

Trinidad & Tobago was the main supplier of LNG to the U.S. in the second quarter.

Prices of LNG were up 33.1 percent from last quarter and up by 73.7 percent from the second quarter of 2013.

The U.S. exported one cargo of LNG (1.9 Bcf) to Japan in the second quarter, for the first time since October 2012.

There were no LNG re-exports in the quarter.
