U.S. rig count rises

U.S. drilling rig numbers are on the way up. This was revealed on Friday by Baker Hughes in its weekly U.S. rig count report, which shows both onshore and offshore rig count rising compared to the previous week. Canadian numbers are a bit down.

 

BHI Rig Count: U.S. +17 to 729 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 17 rigs from last week to 729, with oil rigs up 17 to 583, gas rigs unchanged at 145, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 1.

U.S. Rig Count is up 158 rigs from last year’s count of 571, with oil rigs up 116, gas rigs up 41, and miscellaneous rigs up 1.

The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is up 1 rig from last week to 22 and down 4 rigs year over year.

 

BHI Rig Count: Canada -2 to 343 rigs

 

Canadian Rig Count is down 2 rigs from last week to 343, with oil rigs down 3 to 197 and gas rigs up 1 to 146.

Canadian Rig Count is up 101 rigs from last year’s count of 242, with oil rigs up 66 and gas rigs up 35.
