UK: CLS Financial Director Becomes SSE Offshore Wind Commercial Manager

CLS Offshore’s financial director Sid Anverali is moving on to take up a new challenge as commercial manager, offshore wind, for SSE (Scottish & Southern Energy).

The move was announced yesterday by Scott McMillan, managing director of Great Yarmouth-based energy sector services company CLS, who said it had been amicably agreed.

“Sid goes with our very best wishes and appreciation of his excellent work here over the past four and a half years and for the tremendous support he has given the company and me personally,” he added.

“More recently he has become more involved in the commercial side of our business, as well as finance, and that is something Sid wants to progress so the SSE role is an ideal opportunity.”

Mr. Anverali said: “I’ve enjoyed my time at CLS and wish them every success for the future and I’m now looking forward to an exciting new challenge with SSE.”

He will be based at Lowestoft from where SSE is operating the Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm.

SSE offshore wind generation manager Stephen Rose said: “We’re delighted to have someone of Sid’s knowledge and expertise joining us. We have a continuing good relationship with CLS Offshore who are one of our suppliers.”
