UK: MERiFIC Organises Key Networking Event

UK MERiFIC Organises Key Networking Event

Cornwall Council’s MERiFIC project, which aims to increase the adoption of marine energy across Cornwall and Finistère, is organising a key networking event for businesses and organisations interested in marine renewable energy development at the cutting-edge COAST Laboratory based at the University of Plymouth between 4pm and 6pm on Tuesday, 26 March.

The aim of the event is to provide businesses with the chance to gain a greater understanding of the marine energy sector and meet key stakeholders both from the UK and from France. Delegates will also have the opportunity to visit the newly inaugurated state of the art wave tank testing facility at the COAST laboratory, which was officially opened by HRH Prince Philip The Duke of Edinburgh last year.

“Marine renewable energy provides a great opportunity for sustainable economic development in Cornwall and the South West” said Sandra Rothwell, Head of Economic Development for Cornwall Council. “The commitment of Cornwall Council to this sector shows its importance in generating jobs, growth and environmental benefits for years to come.”
