UK: RES to Build Base at Grimsby Port

UK RES to Build Base at Grimsby Port

The Renewable Energy Systems (RES) has acquired a site from Associated British Ports for its permanent base, reports the Grimsby Telegraph.

RES is planning to build one-story building at the former fish dock off Humber Bridge Road for around 20 engineers, which could be quickly extended if needed. The construction is expected to be launched later this year and be completed by early 2014.

“RES has had a presence at Port of Grimsby East, known locally as the fish docks, for over nine years, but we’ve never had our own building. This is because we have been contracted to work for other companies and have worked alongside them in their premises,“ said Chris Holden, offshore operations manager at RES.

Renewable Energy Systems is also the first company to work in offshore wind sector from Grimsby.

The company boasts of a global presence, and is working with their clients from offices in Grimsby Fish Market. With this news base, Holden said that the RES is letting everyone know “we’re here to stay.“
