Gas Consumption to Reduce by 5 Pct

While preparing for the heating season a series of measures have been taken for the modernization of housing and communal services that will allow reducing natural gas consumption by up to 5% in the future. This was stated by Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Gennady Temnyk during a briefing at the Government House.

He also said that the Ministry continues collaboration with international financial institutions to introduce energy-saving technologies in housing and public utilities.

“An implementation of the first infrastructure project “Urban Infrastructure Development-1,” in which 14 Ukrainian cities participated, comes to the end and intentions to continue work on the project “Urban Infrastructure 2” have been signed, Gennady Temnyk informed.

In addition, according to the Minister, bringing 800 million for activities with thermo modernization, 200 million of which will be used in 2014 is considering jointly with the European Investment Bank.
