Uljanik: Keel Laying of Jadrolinija's New Ro-Ro Vessel

Uljanik shipyard yesterday held the keel-laying ceremony for yard No. 503, the first of four contracted RoRo ferries for the Croatian national shipowner Jadrolinija.

This Ro-Ro passenger vessel is designed for sailing in both directions and with a capacity of 600 passengers in the summer period and 320 passengers in the winter months in the enclosed passenger area. The ferry will also be able to transport 145 standard vehicles and 16 trailers each of up to 40 tonnes.

All vessels from the series will be 99.8 m long, 17.5 m wide, with the draught of 2.4 m, deadweight of 2,4 m at a maximum draught of 950 tonnes and a speed of 12.5 knots. Each vessel will be driven by four main engines each having a power of 442 kW.

The latest updates indicate that the launching of Yard 503 is scheduled for mid-January 2014 with the delivery planned for March.

Jadrolinija's New Ro-Ro VesselApart from Mr. Gianni Rossanda, President of the Management Board of Uljanik Group, the event was also attended by leading people of Jadrolinija led by Mr. Alan Klanac, President of the Management Board of Jadrolinija. On that occasion Mr. Eduard Milovan, director of ULJANIK Shipyard, addressed all present by stressing the fact that he hopes the collaboration with Jadrolinija will be continued in the future with the construction of new vessels and floating objects.
