UPDATE 2: Work recommences on Curtis Island

Bechtel informed that work on its three Curtis Island LNG projects has restarted.

The Gladstone harbour has been opened on Sunday with regular ferry and mainland bus schedules running as normal, the company said on Sunday.

Following the BOM weather warning earlier Bechtel decided to cancel regular scheduled work across its three Curtis Island LNG projects.

Cyclone Marcia had in the meantime been downgraded to category 2 after reaching landfall some 200 km north of Gladstone.

Bechtel canceled work initially due to Bureau of Meteorology issuing a Tropical Cyclone Advice Number 10 advising TC Marcia continued to intensify and it was predicted to be upgraded to a Category 3 system before landfall.
