FERC Grants Accelerated Construction for Sabine Pass Liquefaction Trains 3 and 4

U.S. FERC has approved Sabine Pass LNG’s application for accelerated construction of the Stage 2 liquefaction Trains 3 and 4 for its LNG export terminal located in Cameron Parish, La.

Sabine Pass said in an application that because it has sold liquefaction services utilizing all the Liquefaction Project’s authorized capacity, it plans to accelerate construction of Stage 2 (Trains 3 and 4) to coincide with construction of Stage 1 (Trains 1 and 2).

Cheniere Energy Partners, under its subsidiary Sabine Pass Liquefaction, is developing a project to add liquefaction services at the Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

The Liquefaction Project will transform the Sabine Pass terminal into the world’s first bi-directional facility capable of exporting natural gas in addition to regasifying imported LNG.

The Liquefaction Project has been designed for up to four modular LNG trains, each with an average liquefaction capacity of approximately 4.5 million tons per annum.
