USA: Pinellas Beach Renourishment Nears End

The Pinellas Beach renourishment project is progressing very well and it will be completed in the next few weeks.

Andy Squires, the Pinellas Coastal Manager, stated: “It’s a huge boost to tourism. It’s critical to our economy and provides a great deal of money to the system.”

This $31.5 million program includes dredging of fresh and quality sand from 12 miles off shore, according to wtsp.com.

It’s noisy, it’s dirty, it’s kinda of haste for people in the way of the project, but they’re all usually happy when it’s done,” concluded Squires.
