USA: Ships Charleston and Harvest Moon Collide in Houston Ship Channel

According to the Coast Guard, a collision of a tanker and a cargo ship in the Houston Ship Channel was reported on Tuesday.

The collision that took place north of Texas City Dike involved the 630-foot tanker, known as the Charleston, and the 623-foot cargo ship, Harvest Moon. Only minor damages were reported and the vessels successfully anchored off the dike.

In order to investigate the accident, the Coast Guard has closed a part of the channel.
