USA: SLNG Drops LNG Trucking Plans

Southern LNG has withdrawn its application to FERC to reactivate the trucking facilities on Elba Island to transport LNG, according to a letter sent to FERC.

On August 3, 2010, Southern LNG (SLNG) filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requesting both approval to abandon its certificate authorization associated with certain facilities located at its liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal on Elba Island, in Chatham County, Georgia, and authorization to reactivate, expand, operate and lease the truck loading facilities on Elba Island.

SLNG intended to lease the truck loading facilities to Southeast LNG Distribution Company, a joint venture between EI Paso Corporation and a subsidiary of AGL Resources (Southeast LNG).
