Snohomish River Dredging

The dredging program on the Snohomish River federal navigation channel has resumed recently.

About 127,000 cubic yards of material has been removed from the channel by clamshell dredging.

The Corps’ Seattle District awarded a $1.25 million dredging contract to the Tacoma-based company.

According to William Dowell, a spokesman for the federal agency, hydraulic dredging also was done in an area between the Port of Everett Marina and Jetty Island, during December 2012.
